On April 18, International Day for Monuments and Sites, at 4:30 PM, the Fundação Livraria Lello, in partnership with Editorial Novembro, invites you to the presentation of the books “O meu Caminho da Geira e Arrieiros – O guia” and “O Escritor de Epitáfios”, by Pedro Gil Vasconcelos.
The public is invited to enter two intersecting worlds: that of pilgrimage and literary reflection. Drawing from his personal experience walking the Geira and Arrieiros Way, the author shares not only a physical journey between Braga and Santiago de Compostela, but also an inner journey marked by silence, contemplation, and a deep connection with nature and memory.

On the one hand, “My Geira and Arrieiros Way – The Guide” offers a thoughtful perspective on one of the most beautiful, demanding, and still relatively wild routes of the Camino de Santiago. Crossing the Peneda-Gerês National Park and the Baixa Limia–Serra do Xurés Natural Park, this path stands out for the authenticity of its landscapes, its direct contact with nature, and the limited support infrastructure, inviting pilgrims to embrace a more conscious, respectful, and immersive experience. The guide reveals not only the practical aspects of the route, but also its spirit, reminding us of the importance of walking it with humility and responsibility: leaving only footprints and taking only memories.
On the other hand, “The Writer of Epitaphs” brings this same experience into the realm of fiction. The novel follows a singular character who, between the city of Porto and the road to Santiago de Compostela, reflects on time, life, and memory. In a tone that is both intimate and contemplative, the narrative unfolds as a profound dialogue between places, identities, and landscapes, where the journey itself becomes a metaphor for existence.

This presentation thus offers a conversation on travel, literature, and territory, revealing how a real journey can give rise both to a pilgrimage guide and to a literary narrative, bringing together experience, imagination, and reflection along the same path.
