On 22 October at 6.30pm, the Livraria Lello Foundation invites you on an exciting journey into the past with the presentation of the book ‘Leonor Teles: The Queen who Challenged a Kingdom’, by the author Isabel Stilwell, moderated by Magda Cruz, journalist and author of the literary podcast “Ponto Final, Parágrafo”.

This symbolic date marks the anniversary of the death of Ferdinand I, King of Portugal, whose death triggered the Dynastic Crisis of 1383-1385, culminating in the rise of the Avis Dynasty.

The event will take place at the Monastery of Leça do Balio, where Ferdinand and Leonor Teles sealed one of the most controversial unions in Portuguese history. Participants will also be able to enjoy a guided tour of the Monastery and explore this emblematic medieval setting that witnessed decisive moments in Portugal's history.

Take part in a fascinating journey through Portugal's history!

The event is free to attend, but requires prior registration.
